Silencing individuals is an inhumane and degrading tactic in the unending war of Them agains Us, no matter who is doing the silencing.
We do not win by cutting off each other’s tongues, nor by stopping our ears so that the ‘filth’ of our enemies does not enter. We win by opening our hearts, yes to the possibility of hurt and maybe even of trauma, but also to the hopefulness of change. Not Their change, but our own.
But I am so damn scared. Because no one really wants to expose themselves in that kind of way. No one really wants to love that far. Everyone is to busy demanding to be loved. Myself included.
